What We Do
All our projects are meeting on one result, our child education. Education transforms lives and breaks the cycle of poverty that traps so many children.
At the beginning of the pandemic, nearly 1.6 billion children were affected by school closures. Some didn’t return to their classrooms for months. At the pandemic’s one-year mark, 168 million children’s schools had remained closed for almost an entire year. During those months, 1 in 3 schoolchildren had no access to education.
Schools meals are not only vital in ensuring children’s nutrition, growth and development, they also provide a strong incentive for children — especially girls and those from the poorest and most marginalized communities — to return to school once restrictions are lifted, but the report also points out.
